Loyola University Chicago came in No. 99 on the latest U.S. News & World Report college rankings, cracking the top 100 for the first time in school history.
DePaul University, meanwhile, fell two notches to No. 123 on the widely-followed list of 1,376 colleges and universities.
Other local university rankings: University of Chicago, No. 4; Northwestern University, No. 12; Notre Dame, No. 18; University of Illinois, No. 41; Illinois Institute of Technology, No. 108; University of Illinois at Chicago, No. 129, and Illinois State, No. 149.
